The painting LT “GO purgatorio” 2021 represents the purgatory of the “Divina Commedia” in an abstract form, as it could correspond to the idea of Dante Alighieri. The nine indicated geometric circles correspond to the nine steps that lead to heaven or hell. The colors are kept in warm and dark tones and stand for darkness, uncertainty, conflict, purgatory, but also hope, warmth and confidence. Formally, the picture looks wild and torn, the viewer’s eye constantly wanders in circles. Only the figure of Dante Alighieri keeps the overview and watches over what is happening. He looks into the center, which is symbolized by a red circular area.
